Historic C.E. Weatherby Stadium has been the home to football in Waynesville, NC since the 1920's.  The stadium was home to the Waynesville Township High School Mountaineers until 1965 and became home to the Tuscola High School Mountaineers after the 1966 consolidation.  The current concrete away stands were the original home stands for Waynesville Township High.  Later, wooden stands were built where the current home stands are located- those being replaced by the current concrete home stands in the 1980's.  In 2008, the stadium was upgraded with state of the art Astroturf- adding to it's reputation as one of the finest facilities in Western North Carolina.  The stadium is named after legendary WTHS head coach Carlton E. Weatherby, who also helped as an assistant to Tuscola.

These photos were taken by Tuscola Head Coach Donnie Kiefer and his wife during the deep snows of the 2009-2010 Winter Season.  A different perspective for sure.
