Doug Brooks was the 5th, as well as the longest serving coach in Tuscola football history. In his 23 years at Tuscola High School, Brooks finished with 166 wins and 98 losses. Brooks helped lead Tuscola to 10 consecutive wins over archrival Pisgah in the 1980's and also led Tuscola to it's first and only undefeated regular season in 1995. With a winning percentage of .634, Brooks ranks as the 5th winningest coach in Tuscola history. During the Brooks era, Tuscola became famous dominating its opponents using the wishbone formation. Under Brooks, Tuscola won 7 conference championships and 14 county championships. Coach Brooks was honored in 1992 by being selected as an assistant coach in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Though Brooks continues to teach Driver's Education at Tuscola to this day, he retired from coaching following the 2002 season. Brooks was inducted into the Great American Rivalry Series Hall of Fame in a halftime ceremony at the Tuscola-Pisgah game on October 7, 2011.
