Crompton possesses the size you look for at the quarterback position and will stand tall in the pocket. Displays good accuracy in the short passing game and when rolling out. Shows quick feet in the pocket but not a threat to pick up chunks of yards. Possesses a quick release. Has the arm strength to make all NFL throws.

NFL.com says:
It is not surprising that Crompton is quietly generating a buzz in war rooms across the league. He ran Lane Kiffin's version of the West Coast offense at Tennessee, and his last eight games of the season showcased his potential as a pro quarterback. Furthermore, he has the physical tools (arm strength, touch and accuracy) to develop into a starting quarterback in time. Given Crompton's skills and experience in an offense that is widely used by the majority of teams in the NFL, it is not surprising that he is surging up the charts on draft boards across the league. Although he will rank as one of the most unheralded prospects leading up to the draft, he is making a strong push to be the fifth quarterback off the board, and his selection in the early stages of the draft could come sooner than most anticipate.

Tuscola High School senior Eric Nelson, who broke all school receiving records at WR this past fall, with 1,647 yards and 20 TD's, was offered and accepted a full ride to Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton, PA. Congratulations to a great young man and to his family. Lackawanna has a strong tradition of placing players in D1 programs. I believe Eric's yards this year placed him #5 on the all time single season receiving list for the NCHSAA.

Jonathan Crompton poses with TuscolaFootball.com administrator Patrick Maney in the Tennessee
Locker Room following his 31-16 win over Vanderbilt in his last game at Neyland Stadium.
Nearing the end of his college career after having to learn 4 different offenses, former Tuscola High School Quarterback Jonathan Crompton threw for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns on Saturday in a 31-16 win over Vanderbilt in his final game at Neyland Stadium. This team has really come together under the current system, and Crompton, who has dedicated an unmeasurable amount of time and effort to learning another new system has prevailed in the end and made Tennessee bowl eligible- despite everything that he has had to deal with, including things as extreme as death threats. Crompton, who completed 20 of 34 passes with only 1 interception is now 2nd in Tennessee history for consecutive passes completed without an interception, stopping one short of the record by no fault of his own when a pass was deflected. Crompton has been turning heads in recent weeks and leads the SEC in touchdown passes. He also broke Peyton Manning's record for most yards passing in a half against Memphis. The Jonathan Cropmton that Tuscola fans remember is swinging in full force, running over teams like Georgia and nearly upsetting teams like Florida and Alabama. One can't help but wonder if the leader of many Tuscola comeback victories has made a comeback for his career that could land him in a role playing on Sundays.
